1. Purpose
These terms govern the use of WindowPin (the 'Software') and define the limits of liability.

2. Licence
The Software may be used free of charge for personal and business purposes. You may install, run and copy it freely.

3. Prohibited use
You may not install the Software on another person's computer without permission, modify and distribute it in order to covertly collect information about another person's screen, or use it in violation of applicable law.

4. Your data
All notes are stored on your own PC and backing them up is your responsibility. The Software keeps up to ten recent automatic backups in %APPDATA%\WindowPin, which does not constitute a complete backup.

5. Disclaimer of warranty
The Software is provided 'as is'. No warranty is given that it will operate without error or that it is fit for a particular purpose. Depending on the Windows version, graphics drivers and how a given application manages its own windows, notes may not track every window perfectly.

6. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, the provider is not liable for data loss, business interruption, or indirect or incidental damages arising from use of, or inability to use, the Software.

7. Third-party software
The Software runs on the Microsoft .NET runtime; those components are governed by their own licences.

8. Changes
If these terms change, the document is updated with the release and the effective date is revised.

10. News and advertising
The Software may display announcements, update notices and advertisements written by the developer. All such items are reviewed and served by the developer; no third-party advertising network is used. You may stop receiving them at any time by turning off 'Receive news and announcements' in settings, after which the Software contacts no server at all. Any contract for, and responsibility for, third-party goods or services shown in an advertisement rests with that provider.
