The reference window and the work window look identical

References in one browser window, the working file in another window of the same browser, the feedback doc beside them. Same icon, same shape, three times over. The rules the client set — logo clearance, colours you must not use, tracking — live inside a document while your hands are somewhere else. WindowPin pins those rules onto the working window, and they move when it does.

Keeping the rules in front of you

Put the brand rules, the banned colours and the delivery spec into a short note on the working window. You check them while you work instead of reopening the brief.

Telling reference from work

Give the windows different coloured index labels — "reference", "working", "for client review". Identical windows separate themselves at a glance.

The pass before delivery

Keep resolution, colour space, file naming and margins as a checklist on the window and tick them off. The same mistake stops repeating itself.

What you end up using while designing

Labels in shapes and coloursIndex tab, pill or flag, in the colour you choose, so windows stop looking alike.
Click-through notesLeave a note over the canvas; clicks pass through to the window underneath.
Collapse to one lineKeep a note folded to its title and unfold it only when you need it.

Frequently asked questions

Does it work across two monitors?

Yes. Move the window to the other monitor and the note goes with it, including across virtual desktops.

What about monitors with different scaling?

It follows per-monitor DPI (Per-Monitor V2), so a note does not come out the wrong size when the window moves to a differently scaled display.
