During close you keep the same template open for several months, entities and accounts at once. The taskbar shows six identical icons, and the window title will not tell you which one is final and which one you are still editing. That extra click to check adds up dozens of times a day. WindowPin pins a label onto the window itself, and the label moves whenever the window does.

Give each window an index label — "Aug · final", "Aug · editing", "Jul · reconciliation". Minimise it and bring it back: the label rides along. Click the label and you are switched to that window. Typing a figure into the wrong file is almost always a case of mistaking one window for another.
Stick the balance you reached, the difference you are chasing and the next thing you meant to check onto that window. Come back after the call and you do not have to rebuild the context in your head.
Put a red flag label reading "original — do not edit" on it. Side by side with the working copy, telling them apart takes a fifth of a second.
Does anything get written into my spreadsheet?
No. Notes live only in %APPDATA%\WindowPin on this PC and the source file is never touched. Email the file and the notes do not travel with it.
Can I run this on a work PC?
There is no installer. You run a single executable, and it does not write to the registry. Only the optional desktop right-click menu writes anything, and only under the current user.
