Seventeen notes in, three of them go missing

Revisions arrive by email and the edit happens somewhere else. You read the list, carry it in your head back to the timeline, and the subtitle at 2:14 survives the trip while the end-card logo size does not. Reopening the list costs a window switch every time. WindowPin pins that list onto the editing window, and it moves whenever the window does.

Working through revisions one by one

Turn the feedback into a checklist note stuck to the editing window. Tick items off as you finish them and the remaining count stays visible, so you are not re-reading the email before delivery. Finished items can be hidden.

When several versions are open

Give the rough cut, the graded version and the client review copy different coloured index labels. Overwriting the wrong file usually starts with mistaking one window for another.

When reference windows keep changing

Label the explorer window, the browser tab list or the font picker with something like "source for this project". Minimise it and bring it back: the label follows, and clicking the label switches you to that window.

What you end up using while editing

Checklist notesBreak revisions into items and clear them one at a time. The remaining count is always in view.
Click-through notesLeave a note sitting over the timeline while clicks pass straight through to the window underneath.
Fades when not hoveredNotes dim while you work and come back the moment you point at them, so they never block the frame.

Frequently asked questions

Will a note show over a full-screen preview?

Only if you switch that note to always-on-top. Otherwise it sits just above its target window and stays out of the way of everything else.

Does it slow down a render?

When the target window is not moving the watcher backs off on its own. Most of the time the app is doing nothing at all.
