Choose a folder and an interval (24 hours by default) and copies are written there. Point the folder inside a cloud drive and that service uploads it — your choice, not ours.

No account means the backup is yours to hold
WindowPin has no account and no cloud. Notes exist in %APPDATA%\WindowPin on this PC. That is what keeps them off a server, and it is also what makes backups your responsibility — so automatic backups and export/import are part of the app.

Move to another PC
Export to a single file, import it on the new machine, and the notes come across. This is the route for moving between a home and an office PC.
Finding the windows again
A note remembers what its window looked like — executable, window class, title. Open the same program on the new PC and it usually re-attaches on its own; when the evidence is thin it asks you which window to use.

Frequently asked questions
Is there cloud sync?
There is no built-in sync. Putting the backup folder inside a cloud drive is the practical substitute.
A note disappeared.
Check the archive and the trash first, then the copies in your backup folder. If you have not set a backup interval, now is a good time.
